Data Deletion

Use this page to request deletion of personal information connected with Chiz accounts, event photobooth sessions, galleries, shared media, AI-generated media, and support requests.

For direct help, email support@chiz.cam. If an event organizer controls the gallery or session where your media appears, Chiz may need to coordinate with that organizer before deleting or restricting access to event media.

1. What You Can Ask Us To Delete

You may request deletion of personal information that Chiz maintains about you, subject to verification, organizer controls, service requirements, and legal exceptions. Depending on how you used Chiz, this may include:

2. Account Deletion

If you ask us to delete your Chiz account, we will close or disable the account and delete or de-identify account information that we are no longer required to keep. Account deletion may also remove organizer settings, saved sessions, event galleries, media links, and other content associated with the account where Chiz controls that data.

Before requesting account deletion, download any media, event materials, invoices, exports, or records you want to keep. Deleted account data and media may not be recoverable.

3. Event Media And Guest Requests

Photos and videos can include guests, attendees, venue staff, hosts, minors, and other people who may not own the Chiz account that created the event. If you are a guest asking to remove a photo, GIF, video, AI-generated image, gallery item, or shared link, please include the event name, gallery URL, media URL, QR link, session code, approximate capture time, and any other details that help us locate the file.

When an event organizer controls the session or gallery, the organizer may be responsible for deciding whether to delete, hide, restrict, or retain event media. Chiz may forward or coordinate your request with the organizer as needed to process the request.

4. AI Media And Third-Party Providers

Some Chiz features use third-party providers for AI media generation, email, WhatsApp, hosting, storage, authentication, diagnostics, security, and support. When Chiz controls a local copy of files or request data, we will process deletion requests according to this page and the Chiz Privacy Policy. Third-party provider retention is governed by the provider's own terms, privacy policies, account settings, and legal obligations.

If your request involves AI-generated or AI-modified content, include both the original source media and generated output links if you have them. This helps us locate related files and processing records.

5. Information To Include

To help us find the correct data and protect other users from unauthorized deletion, please include:

6. Verification And Timing

We may need to verify your identity, authority, account ownership, relationship to the event, or right to make the request. We may ask for additional information if the request is incomplete, unclear, involves another person's data, or affects an organizer-controlled event.

We will respond within a reasonable time after receiving a verifiable request. Where applicable privacy law sets a specific deadline, we will follow that deadline. If we need more time because the request is complex or requires organizer coordination, we will let you know.

7. Data We May Retain

Deletion rights are not absolute. Chiz may retain limited information where permitted or required for legal, security, operational, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, backup, compliance, or enforcement purposes. We may also retain de-identified, aggregated, or anonymized information that no longer reasonably identifies you.

Backups and logs may take additional time to age out of ordinary retention cycles. During that period, retained backup copies are restricted from ordinary production use unless restoration is necessary for security, continuity, legal, or compliance reasons.

8. Authorized Agents, Parents, And Guardians

You may submit a deletion request through an authorized agent where applicable law allows it. We may require proof that the agent is authorized to act for you and may ask you to verify your identity directly. Parents or guardians may submit requests involving minors where they have legal authority to do so.
