Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Chiz handles personal information and event media when you use the Chiz website, account tools, browser photobooth, galleries, sharing features, AI media features, and support channels.

Effective date: May 25, 2026

This policy applies to Chiz services available at https://chiz.cam, including related account, session, gallery, sharing, and support workflows.

1. Who We Are

Chiz provides browser-based event photobooth software for organizers and guests. The service can be used to configure branded sessions, capture photos, GIFs, videos, and AI-assisted media, display or share galleries, send media links by email, SMS, WhatsApp, QR code, or native sharing, and manage related account preferences.

For privacy questions or requests, contact support@chiz.cam.

2. Information We Collect

Account and organizer information

When you create or use an account, we may process information such as your name, email address, authentication identifiers, profile or billing contact details, user preferences, accepted terms metadata, sign-in activity, and support communications.

Event setup information

Organizers may provide event names, session identifiers, logos, backgrounds, frames, overlays, stickers, template choices, sharing options, camera and layout settings, gallery preferences, and other configuration details needed to run a photobooth session.

Guest and media information

Depending on the event configuration, Chiz may process photos, GIFs, videos, background-removal outputs, AI source images, generated AI images, gallery assets, capture timestamps, gallery categories, email addresses, phone numbers, WhatsApp destinations, QR link activity, and messages or delivery metadata needed to share media.

Device, browser, and log information

We may process technical data such as IP address, browser type, device class, operating system, camera or media-device capabilities, session status, API request logs, error logs, diagnostics, and security signals. Some camera, hand, face, segmentation, or depth-style processing may happen locally in the browser for live photobooth behavior and is used to operate the feature.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

4. Legal Bases And Event Organizer Responsibilities

Where privacy laws require a legal basis, Chiz may process information to perform a contract, with consent, for legitimate business interests, to comply with law, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law. Event organizers are responsible for determining whether they need guest consent, venue notices, media releases, age-related permissions, or other approvals before guests are photographed, recorded, displayed, transformed, or included in a gallery.

When an organizer uses Chiz to run an event, the organizer may act as the controller or business responsible for guest media and attendee information. Chiz may act as a processor or service provider for that organizer, depending on the context and applicable law.

5. Event Media, Galleries, And Sharing

Photos and videos can reveal personal information and sensitive characteristics. Chiz stores event media and related assets so organizers and guests can view, download, display, or share them. Galleries and media links may be accessible to anyone who receives the relevant link, QR code, or session identifier unless the organizer configures access restrictions.

If a guest asks that media be removed, the event organizer is responsible for reviewing the request when the organizer controls the event gallery. Chiz may also assist with deletion or access requests sent to support@chiz.cam.

6. AI-Generated Content

Some Chiz AI features process source images, captured photos, masks, prompts, style selections, scene selections, outfit selections, and generated outputs on Chiz-controlled servers and through third-party AI providers. Basic local compositing or background-removal workflows may be processed by Chiz infrastructure or locally configured services. More advanced AI image generation and transformation features may send original files, derived images, prompts, and technical parameters to providers such as Google AI Studio/Gemini and fal.ai solely as needed to create the requested output.

Where Chiz uses Google AI Studio or Gemini image models, including any Gemini model made available through the Chiz service, the submitted image files and prompts are processed by Google for generation. No additional event account data is intentionally sent to Google beyond what is necessary for the AI request. Outputs generated through Google AI services are also subject to Google's terms and privacy policies, available at https://policies.google.com/terms and https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Where Chiz uses fal.ai image generation or related AI services, submitted files, prompts, and output requests may be processed by fal.ai for the requested generation. fal.ai terms and privacy information are available at https://fal.ai/legal/terms-of-service and https://fal.ai/legal/privacy-policy.

AI services are not fully predictable, and outputs may vary. Chiz applies reasonable safeguards, which may include prompt constraints, negative prompts, filtering, product design limits, and review controls intended to reduce the risk of generating nudity, explicit content, illegal content, or other inappropriate outputs. Chiz cannot guarantee that such content will never appear. Organizers and users are responsible for reviewing generated images and deciding whether to retain, display, share, download, or delete them.

AI-generated images may include provider-generated metadata, watermarks, provenance signals, or synthetic-content marks, such as Google SynthID where supported by the relevant model or provider. Chiz does not guarantee that every generated or edited image will contain an externally detectable AI mark.

7. Third-Party Service Providers

Chiz may use service providers and subprocessors to operate the service, including hosting, storage, authentication, database, email, SMS, WhatsApp, AI media processing, diagnostics, security, payment, and support providers. These providers process information on Chiz's behalf or as independent providers according to their own terms, privacy policies, and data-processing obligations.

Examples of provider categories include Supabase for authentication and account/session data, Resend or other email providers for email delivery, Twilio for SMS or WhatsApp delivery, Google services for sign-in or AI processing, fal.ai for AI generation, and hosting or storage providers for files and application infrastructure.

8. Cookies, Local Storage, And Similar Technologies

Chiz may use cookies, browser local storage, session storage, and similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember settings, preserve kiosk mode, maintain session state, prevent abuse, improve performance, and understand basic usage or errors. You can control many of these technologies through your browser settings, but disabling them may prevent Chiz from working correctly.

9. Retention

Chiz keeps information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain account and event functionality, keep galleries available, support users, secure the platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Media, generated outputs, event assets, logs, and delivery details may have different retention periods depending on organizer settings, storage configuration, account status, support needs, and operational requirements.

When files are sent to third-party AI providers, provider-side retention is governed by that provider's applicable terms, settings, and policies. Chiz retains local copies only as needed for the service and applicable retention practices.

10. Security

Chiz uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or unlawful processing. These safeguards may include HTTPS, access controls, authentication, environment-based secret management, operational monitoring, and storage controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

11. Your Choices And Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information. You may also have rights to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To make a request, contact support@chiz.cam. We may need to verify your identity or coordinate with the event organizer before acting on a request involving event media or guest data.

12. Children And Events

Chiz is not intended for use by children without appropriate organizer, parent, guardian, school, venue, or legal authorization. Event organizers are responsible for obtaining any consents required for minors who participate in an event or appear in event media.

13. Links To Other Websites

Chiz may link to third-party websites, stores, support resources, app stores, payment providers, or provider policies. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites or services that Chiz does not control.

14. International Processing

Chiz and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live.

15. Changes To This Policy

Chiz may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at https://chiz.cam/privacy with a revised effective date. Continued use of Chiz after an update means the updated policy applies to future use.
